Years ago Bilt fell truly, madly, deeply for Toronto artist Bruno Billio who explores the relationship between objects and space, architecture and infrastructure, and the familiar and foreign. Sculptor, installation artist and philosopher, Billio continues to amaze us with his vision and creation, most recently at Toronto’s Gladstone Hotel as part of their annual “Come up to My Room” show where he collaborated with light sculptor Orest Tataryn.
Billio started out using what he had on hand to create his “stacked” sculptures. Today he continues to transform everyday spaces into thought provoking environments, at times, literally turning things on their head.
